Andhra Pradesh Biodiversity Board
Andhra Pradesh is endowed with varied Eco-systems, habitats and rich heritage of Biodiversity and is a store house of rich flora and fauna. The state is a proud possessor of some rare and endemic plants like Cycas beddomei, Cycas seshachalamensis, Cycas sphaerica, Pterocarpus santalinus, Terminalia pallida, Syzygium alternifolium, Shorea talura, Shorea tumburgia, Psilotum nudum etc. It has fauna like Tiger, Gaur, Great Indian Bustard, Lesser Florican, Jerdon’s Courser, Golden Gecko, other avifauna like Flamingo, Pelican etc.
To Play a Pivotal role to effectively implement the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 and advise the Government to Facilitate the Identification of biodiversity in ecosystems, landscapes, heritage sites, sacred grooves, hotspots and niche areas with focus on endemic, rare, endangered, and threatened species by demarcation, protection,conservation,utilization
